Awwwww.... now ain't that cute. It's a little beaver, and his parents are probably nearby. He's looking for a nice branch to chew.
Right. Just wait until mamma beaver sees you and your dog, and attacks. My brother had a beaver get into his back yard, and the damned thing attacked his smallest dog Feed-Bag. It almost killed her, but she got away. The larger dog drove the beaver off.
Adult beaver goes from 40 to 60 pounds, is aggressive, and will cheerfully attack people and pets. Beaver bites are prone to serious infection. The critters are destructive and cause flooding due to their dams.
The meat of the beaver stinks. It's tough, and I'd have to be seriously hungry to eat any again.
I have had land owners order me to shoot them on sight - and I have obeyed them too. They are damned mean critters that somehow got the reputation of being docile and polite... much like the Canadians they supposedly represent...
