Folks, I am just vapour locked. I’m starting to see a lot of stuff like this.
I love Claire. She’s got all the right credentials: Christian, conservative, compassionate, fair, prepper/pro-self sufficiency - she’s just an all round good egg. A lot of others are echoing her ideas and even publishing books about it. Their strategy is to fall back, establish their own spaces, keep their culture alive and maybe even fork the establishment from time to time.
I know I am a unrepentant dink and an unfailing dissident and contrarian. I will look at chit others refuse to see. Claire and others are just beginning to see the leviathan in our govts and seeing the need to actually do something about it. I’ve been seeing that monster most of my adult life - I am also a gun owner and the govt has had a hate-on for guys like me for decades. The same one they have got Christians now. And white men. And…and…etc. She’s right, but she’s only looking at herself, her community and her friends and ignoring everything outside that. She is steadfastly refusing to look at the devil closing in around her and how he operates. I am feeling the need to critique because there are realities she is ignoring that make her strategy a pipe dream at best, and cultural suicide at worst.
- There is no place to fall back to. There are no pristine wild spaces anymore where you can have access to clean water, lumber, game, pasture and set up a sustainable life off grid. Those places are all occupied now and everything in the US landmass is accessible to everyone. Even if those places were available, it would take years for you to prepare to live on them, never mind defending them. Even with all the modern conveniences most city people are not cut out for rural life.
- at least one half of our citizenry is now fully batshit crazy, and will actively side with the gubbimint and the cultural fascists lining up against us. In my neck of the woods the women all went off their gourds at once. My daughter decided she was queer and that I was an abusive oppressive father and ran away to join the circus. The family matriarchs ordered me to dash out after her and beg her forgiveness and I told them to shove it too, and get the hell out of our family business and mind their own. It got nasty and we all fell out. In other branches of the family women divorced their men and came to be at odds with their kids. The totalitarianism is not just in our own gubbimint, it’s in our families. If you think these shitlib family nutters are going to sit back and watch you prosper while they suffer the problems they made for themselves… you need to think again. Look at the Karens and covitards that will snitch on their neighbours for having a BBQ. Or the cop that lives next door and expects you to back the blue when he beats up old ladies for not wearing a mask, or stands idly by while the BLM noggers burn your neighborhood down. Do you have the stones to cut these kinds of friends and relatives out of your life? For good? You will have to for anything like this to succeed.
- Christians have been falling back and trying to regroup for the last 50 years. The reason for this is that the bad guys have weaponized the institutions against it. In the media Christians are clowns, hypocrites, pedos. In the courts, activist judges rule against them. Bake the cake, bigot. No, you cannot preach about the evils of homosexuality, socialism, feminism, or the actions of perverts and degenerates. The cops will send squaddies around to bust your pastors if there are too many people in the church during this fake plague. Our doctors hold Christians in contempt and will not treat them if they aren’t vaxxed… but they’ll pull out the stops for HIV patients, the morbidly obese, the noggered gang bangers that get shot in drug turf wars, and do abortions. In school kids are being sexualized in elementary, and being taught to hate themselves, their gender, the faith, and their country. Claire is ignoring all this stuff: the bad guys have evolved weapons to seek you out, infiltrate and subvert your spaces. Until you develop a counter to those weapons… you’re toast. The answer to these things, at this point… will almost certainly involve kinetic and ballistic solutions.
Aaaand this is where most Christians will shut me off and toon out. Violence of any kind is off the table for biblical and scriptural reasons. So I guess the guys that founded our countries weren’t Christians? The army chaplains that went to war aren’t Christians? Anyone that puts on a uniform can’t be a Christian? This is the kind of stuff we squabble about while our ruling class ponders more lockdowns, mandatory “vaccines”, vaccine passports, etc. Sorry folks… but my mind is beginning to wobble. From where I sit the soapbox and ballot box failed.
We will hang separately I guess.
People need to read about the Presbyterians role in the American Revolution.
ReplyDeleteI'll hang with you Glen.
Christianity has always flowered under oppression. That is when the wheat is separated from the tares. As for the staunch core that remains; throughout history, God has shown he will take care of them. God is certainly not shy about violence. Think Jericho, Sodom, Gomorrah.
ReplyDeleteThe Revolution was a direct result of the Great Awakening. Spiritual revival, even like Stuart mentions in removing the dead wood hindering growth, precedes great turmoil. Almost like a spiritual boot camp.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it will happen here. But modern Christianity is more cultural now than Biblical. Just look at the men that spread the gospel: Paul was beaten, stoned, left for dead and still did the work. Only John escaped a violent death. But they all did the work. The little Lord Fauntleroy mentality of the church now is SO out of step with our founding as to be unrecognizable.
I went here this spring:https://www.flickr.com/photos/matthigh/4731861609/ I sat and contemplated what it meant for these men to turn their eyes to the enemy and fight to the death. They did this for their children and the generations that followed. They didn't love their life more than they loved their freedom. Not sure of their spiritual bent, but like you said, chaplains went to war. Nowadays they aren't allowed to carry arms, they have a guard for that. But back then, there were no such frills.
We have become the land of safe places, soft hearts, soft bodies and weak analytic thought. These men were hard, physically and mentally. They had a basic education but were able to tame the land and teach themselves what they needed to know.
I had to ask myself, would I be able and willing to do that for my future generations? Would I be a MAN? Or a serf? In both cases there was building pressure, that was eventually released by the attempted removal of certain metallic hardware from their inventory.
Remember the wisdom of Aleksadr: “And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”
I was reading Claire way, way back in the hippie days of Loompanics Press, and only recently discovered her blog. It's like finding an old friend after many years apart. But I'm with you Glen. It's far too late for simply "opting out".
ReplyDeleteI'm more inclined to the Doug Giles brand of militant Christianity. He once asked "WWJD if some nutjob came into his church and started shooting parishoners?" His answer: "He would whip out his Glock and double tap the center of mass." Of course he would.
I have no answers. I plan to praise the Lord, pray for guidance, and pass the ammunition.
ReplyDeleteIf and only if the extremists on both sides are eliminated, we might be able to start the repairs. It won't be easy, and it won't be fun. My thought is that the United States will become a nation of individual States, each State holding the Federal government in check.
"...each State holding the Federal government in check."
ReplyDeleteSorry, that train left the station back in 1865. What is more likely is that the Federal government fails altogether and the nation breaks up into autonomous regions.
