ReplyDeleteAnd Remember, those Airships were filled with Hydrogen Gas - and the reason that the Lufthansa Airliner "Hindenburg" caught Fire and Crashed was because they were not allowed to buy Helium Gas in the U.S. The Navy Department refused an Export License for it because they knew it made Airships "Unsinkable". The Navy ran Airships for Anti-Submarine work well into the 1950's.
