Well sorry about all the pooper pics everyone. The squirmy little niglet is tough to get a grip on. and get a decent pic of. I am getting mauled and eaten as I try to type this.
Filthie Family Lore has it that Pa Filthie (my dad, currently 81 years old) got his first pup when he was a tot back in the 40's. First thing Grampa Filthie did was put the pup up on the kitchen table - an bob its tail on a cheese board with a bread knife!!!
I will continue the family tradition as it was handed down to me by my forefathers, and as it was to them!!! Off with your tail, Hannah!!! HAR HAR HAR!!!
Okay... no I am not going to bob her tail or cut her ears off or anything like that. She's just perfect the way she is. She will get spayed though - Pete and Cederq are handy surgeons, dentists and veteranarians and their rates are reasonable! HAR HAR HAR!!!!
Gawd, I am such a rotten chit!!!
We had our first bath in the sink and now she's huddled up beside me under a towel trying to warm up and dry out. It was a very scarey experience but she's kinda sorta clean now.
Our toilet training success rate is already at 50%. Last night we were up with the birds and coyotes. The yodellers started singing, and my little girl started growling. She loves dogs and people but hates yodellers. Mort does too.
Couch potatoes
Probly her last bath in the sink...
Drying out after a scarey bath bender...
We are having a truly magnificent Sunday here and we hope you are as well.
Cheers!
Filthie
Glad for you your new happiness. Dogs are the best!
ReplyDeleteOh! She is a cutie! What a nice pup, glad you got her!
ReplyDeleteGlen, we must be twins from different mothers, I too am as bald and dome shaped with facial hair as you are, Lord have Mercy as the doppelgangers have been cut loose!
ReplyDeleteDawgs are the best part of life. Enjoy.
ReplyDeletePlease keep us posted on her journey through life. I shall enjoy them vicariously, as I can't have dawgs any more. Long story.
Thanks Glen. Great pictures and color commentary.
You have a loving friend for life, you are both blessed.
ReplyDeleteBoring??? Puppy pics? You just watch your stat counter go through the roof here. We're 'specially interested in which piece of furniture is destroyed first. Or shoes. Or...... Puppy teeth are razor sharp; ours could saw through a nylon leash in seconds. I think that's how they get weaned... when they start nipping momma's titties.
ReplyDeleteI still remember a work buddy who got a black lab pup. He came to work one afternoon shaking his head "I'm too old to raise a puppy!" He was all of about 46 at the time.
I wish I had enough time left for a pup.
ReplyDeleteDamn, she's a sweetheart Glen.
ReplyDeleteI had me a black lab retriever sort of like that when I was a teenager. Raised her from when she was a puppy. She was a natural hunter - being a bird dog was in her blood. Unfortunately, she came down with some sort of weird cancer and I had to put her down. She lived to about 14 or so. Had a great life.
They're great dogs that make great company. Enjoy her!
Excellent. Very happy for you!
ReplyDelete^^^That^^^
ReplyDeleteAdorable puppy! Black Labrador?
ReplyDeleteSandy
I I would like to mock you for many things. Your love of dogs trumps them all. Now go rub some corn starch on that shiny thing above your bushy eyebrows.
ReplyDeleteShe will give you more love than you can receive. Rub her ears for me.

ReplyDeleteAs i have lost some over my years, there is always that moment when you think to yourself, I cannot go through that again...
ReplyDeleteBut one comes around that needs some help, and you know instinctively at least for this one, I can do something.
And we do.
And you have here.
God bless you and your pup.
Epic!
