Buellenzescheitzen, Herr Heinrich….

A Soviet Prisoner of War wearing SN-42 armor on the Karelian Front in 1944. He had been shot twice but his steel breastplate protected him.

The Blab blurb above sounds awful sure of itself but I have doubts. First…armour? For Russians? Lot of those guys didn’t have rifles, never mind armour…but whadda I know?

Second…what were the krauts shooting at him with? I’m sorry…but I don’t see that armour plate stopping 7x57 Mauser hardball. 9mm pistol maybe?

  1. Used by MG gunners in the trenches during WWI. Not intended for use while moving. Purportedly could stop all known rifle caliber rounds.
