They were reliable two-wheeled transpo in their day, shaft drive and Earles fork. When everything else was unreliable crap, they were well made and reliable. Twenty years later, the Japanese made reliable bikes and (incoming opinion) BMW’s had become quirky oddities in comparison. SP RN
The shaft drive is on the right side. Kick-starting these old BMWs is kind of weird as the lever swings down sideways at 90 degrees to the bike. Al_in_Ottawa
