The Great Retard Rifle Tournament

Ahhhhhhhhh. The annual Cabin Fever Challenge is on again on JewTube! The rules are very lax, and open to … interpretation. It’s more about getting you off your butt and outside with your rifle than anything else. Anyone can enter; pretty much all rifles are allowable.

As always, my favourite retard rifleman is the brave and intrepid Private McKenzie. I don’t think we have any real re-enactors up here in Canada… and I don’t think that label really works the Private. I’d describe him more as a curator than anything else. Historical accuracy is a big deal for the shooters in his tribe, all their gear has to be “PC”…or Period Correct. Rob has done some superlative work in getting historical and obscure guns to shoot and live again. Did you see those cartridge packages? Rob makes them himself!

If you are a gunnie looking for some stress relief from a long winter…be sure to check him out. If you like historical guns as I do…Rob has the channel for you!

Enjoy…and…you’re welcome!
😊👍

  1. Thanks for the link!! There were some Canadian re-inactors that did the early frontier and some rev war stuff back decades ago. Not sure if they are still around I doubt it they were old long before me.

    1. Rob is nothing but fun, PP.

We are inundated with info of America's military tradition... but those of the Brits and Canadians and other countries are sliding into oblivion and obscurity thanks largely to Globohomo Inc. It's truly sad to watch.

  2. It is eye-opening to see how easily McKenzie slides the paper-patched bullet down the bore and how little effort he uses to ensure it is firmly seated against the powder.

  3. Some time ago, I recall seeing the new (at the time) Tikka 3xArctic and getting all hot and bothered. That Canadian Scout regiment it was designed for are a lucky group of folks to carry such a rifle in the Canadian Bush.

    1. I'm tempted towards silence. But... sometimes, things have to be said.

The Scouts are a bunch of gov't funded affirmative action drunks and first nation freeloaders. As a military cohort, those guys couldn't defend themselves, never mind civilians. In any real confrontation they'd get rolled over and brushed aside... or more likely... they'd bolt and run. They are poseurs, not warriors.

The Tikka? I am not a fan of Tikka. Yes, they are good shooters. Yes, they are (for the most part) reasonably priced. That particular rifle though, is not. It is grossly over priced for what it is. It almost reminds me of those endless Winchester 94 commemorative rifles that commanded premium prices for what was essentially a whored-up .30-30 bush gun.

Tikka makes guns just as good at far better prices. As do Ruger, Winchester, etc. Just my two bits, your mileage may vary.
