Where Great Intelligence Goes To Be Insulted

The story is up at Irish's and worth your time...

I was on skates when I was five and playing minor league at six. My coach at the time was a cop who knew nothing about hockey. He DID know strategy though, and he made sure we knew it too. I was a D-Man on my Mighty Mite team and my job was to keep the puck in their end from their blue line, and if they tried to break out, my job was to flatten them.  It was awesome. They broke out all the time but when they did, I wouldn't exactly tackle them... but one or both of us were going to lose their footing. I didn't worry about the puck because the other D-Man was there to grab it and fire it back into their end once all our guys were on side. Or vice-versa. We won so much that some of the parents complained that we shouldn't be in the bush league, we should be in the more proficient A and B tiers... but we all skated on our ankles. I quit when I got older and the beer leagues were my only option for staying in the game. I didn't like that culture with the drunks, the jocks, the floozies and the bars. I couldn't afford it and I had to grow up...

If the Boogaloo comes to Canada, no, I am not going to engage that thing with my AR pea shooter. But if I see that thing getting turned loose on Albertan duck hunters and gun club stubfarts? While real, violent criminals and rapists are coddled and enabled by Liberal politicos...?

There's more than one way to skin a cat.

  1. I suspect this Twitter account is nothing more than a bot trying to stir up crap. If it isn't a bot, then the author is woefully under-educated in the areas of asymmetrical warfare and history.

  2. And civilians have access to bulldozers, dump trucks and other things that could mess with that as well.....

  3. Molotov had remedies for this. For the vehicle or the home of the guy operating it.

  4. I did go and read some of that chain, which is a little unusual for me. Sadly, I think the original author did not accomplish his point: references in the chain led me to a couples of references and now I am have more knowledge on how to stop these. Law of unintended consequences...
