Paths Not Taken...

I am a calibre snob. Or maybe a calibre whore. In handguns I do .45 ACP and that’s it. I dabble in .22 and 45 Colt...but the .45 ACP is my calibre. It’s classic; low recoil, inherently accurate, readily available... why bother with anything else?

But the .38 Super was something too. The best hand gunner I ever saw shot that in a Colt Gold Cup target gun. I’ve always wanted one but time and circumstances didn’t permit. In the next life, I am going to make time for the .38 Super and the .41 magnum...

EDITTED AND ADDED TO AS PER JOHN IN PHILLY:

In the next life, I am going to make time for the .38 Super and the .41 magnum and the 10mm...

  1. The internet is awash with debate over the .38 Super versus the 10mm.
My favorite pistol has always been the one that my employer issued to me.

  2. Ditto. Dad carried a 41 for a while, too much penetration. My old boss had his dad's 38 Super. Man, it was nice.

  3. The only beef I can find with the chambering is brass. A fella has to hunt around for it up here. It's available, just not everywhere...

  4. I'm still looking for the right 10mm, but I've got my .38 Super.
