    boat: a wood lined hole in the water into which an infinite amount of money can be poured.

    any time I get the urge to buy a boat I read a book about boat maintenance. memories of trying to disassemble corroded dryer washing machine pumps, and getting blamed when they crumble to dust...

    any time I get the urge to drive around town and look at all the back yard boats that have not moved in 25 years.
