Having said that, I am just baffled at what I’m seeing here in Canada. There are remarkably few properties up for sale right now. Those that are sell fast. Our archery club is looking for new digs, and industrial rental property is at a premium. I don’t get it... The last time the job situation was this bad people were foreclosing everywhere. They would just pack up and move the family and walk away from their mortgages.
I would think that at some point, something has to give. But whadda I know....
Glen, it is not a great deal different here in Baja Canada. Properties are selling almost as quickly as they go up, at least here in New Home. If I were a guessing man, I would think people either a) Believe that somehow government will present a solution; or b) Things are about to get much, much worse and they are better off where they are.
ReplyDeleteWe're seeing the same thing here in the state of Lofan... the Land Of Fruits And Nuts... California.... The home sales idiocy has returned. People are paying big bucks for little value. They're entering LOTTERIES for the CHANCE at MAKING A BID on a house! maybe people think things are going to come roaring back when the masks come off or something. Who knows?
ReplyDeleteStupid never ends well...
try this one on for size.

Who has money right now to purchase land or a home? Down here, it's out of staters...
ReplyDeleteI am even more uneducated than he is M. There would have been a time when you could simply follow the money and figure out what’s going on. Nowadays, the trail leads straight to the corporations, govt and banksters, and goes gawd only knows where.
ReplyDeleteI’ve been in much smaller, personal situations (not related to economics) where I have been played false. When I didn’t understand the rules, and insisted on clarification I was told that I was too stupid to understand them, and that I should just shut up and keep playing. I packed it in and walked away.
This may get out of control. If it does, there will be blood and tears.
Further signs that the seeds of communism are starting to bear fruit. In Mexico onion and tomatoes crops now go unpicked and are left to rot in the field because the cost to harvest is greater than the wholesale market price.
