The Glories Of My Youth

When I was a kid I could probly drink a whole six pack of these, slam two MacIntosh toffee bars, eat a bag a chips, then ride the empties down to the Chink Store for the refund - and be home in time to eat supper!

I started this post off craving an orange crush but now I am suppressing an urge to vomit. 🤢

  1. When I was a kid I could down a quart of milk, a three egg omelet and a pot pie before heading to school. I'd be starving by lunchtime.
Of course I was burning more calories in a day back then than I do in a week now at 65.

  4. Orange was good. Root Beer was just a little better, but that Cream Soda was the best.

  5. A vote for Cream Soda here. But I also loved both Nehi Grape and Orange Soda, especially when it came out of those chest style coolers where you'd slide the bottles down the racks 'til they got to the end and you'd pull them up and out. Fond memories.
I believe they were 5¢ a bottle back then.

  6. MacIntosh toffee...one of my fondest memories as a kid with Canadian ancestry. I haven't seen one--let alone tasted one--in years!
