Choose Wisely, Christian....

Don’t anybody take offence - I’m not taking aim at anyone or their denomination. But as we all know... far too many churches are run by clowns. And - if we’re being honest - the folks they minister to are nuggets too. I ran across a blogger that frequents the same sites I do. Imagine a composite character from The Simpsons: one that is as dumb as Homer, but with the spirituality and positivity of Ned Flanders. Do that, feed it into the meme machine... and this comes out:

I’m sure in his own mind he sees himself as immune to the hysterics, lunacy and sensationalism of our day. And maybe I get too caught up in it. Maybe I should just walk away from my post at the pumps and let somebody else worry? Maybe I should just saddle up, shut my pie hole, leave them to it, and ride on. There’s tons of folks like that, I suppose...

Enjoy your Sunday everyone. Thanks for dropping in. 😉👍

  1. To put "Organized Religion" into perspective; Matthew 23: Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, 2 “The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.[a] 3 So practice and obey whatever they tell you, but don’t follow their example. For they don’t practice what they teach. 4 They crush people with unbearable religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden.

    Faith but verify...

    1. There are some where I would say you IGNORE what they are teaching because it has gotten so bad. Some of these churches are parodies that mock our Maker, in my opinion...

    Oh brother...

No, you don't get too caught up in it. If we the relatively sane, intelligent, and well-read don't pay attention to the real world, we fail to set an example of awareness and knowledge, and we'll fail to help when help is truly needed.

Consider, for instance, that there is still a police 'no-go' zone in Minneapolis - St. Paul, and that zone is getting larger. In Arizona, Maricopa County Officials deleted an entire database before turning over the voting machines to the State election auditors, which amounts to election fraud and, maybe more importantly, the President of the United States may not be a President at all. A little further north of me, Pastor Artur Pawlowski was arrested for holding church services on Saturday.

My thought? Don't go through life with blinders on, but I'll go a few steps further. If you hear a sermon which isn't Biblical, say something. I have, and I did, and I walked out before I could be ejected. I will not sit quietly and listen to a non-Biblical sermon.

But that's just me. A few of my friends are the same way, and my lunatic family members of which I have at least two think that I'm touched and treat me as such.

"Don't mind him, he can't help it. His parents were the product of WWII and the Great Depression, so they looked at things a little differently than we do."

    1. Well yeah... you definitely have to speak out. It really is amazing how many of these guys are going along because that is what everyone else is doing. And they are literally shocked when you speak out and point out the lunacy of what they are doing.

I saw that with my SJW lesbian daughter even in our own family: I'd ask people if they really - deep down in their guts, think that what she was doing was RIGHT. Everyone of them looked sheepish and ashamed... for a few seconds. Then that mental conditioning would kick in and they'd accuse me of bigotry, fascism, sexism, homophobia, etc.

On some level, most of these shitheads know that what they are doing is wrong.
