The Filthie Pot Head

No, I am not walking in the footsteps of our turd brained prime minister - its time once again to fire up the lead pot in the cool Reclusium Subterranium! 😊👍

As I get older, the more I love black powder. It’s filthy, smelly and hot… and there in lies it’s charm. I’m taking a new bullet mould for its first ride today… I don’t think I’ve fired this gun for two years! It’s time for me to get back to shootin’ and stinkin’!

Wish me luck with the new mould!

    1. Most guys just buy them. It used to be that you had do a LOT of casting to make it pay for itself. Nowadays, with the cost of everything…I wonder if that changed?

I do it mostly as cheap entertainment…

  2. I've got an 1848 Dragoon replica. Minute if pop can accurate out to the unlikely distance of about 40 yards. A real hoot to shoot, little recoil and deadly if need be, though pretty sure I'm not gonna be shooting at any meat targets.

    1. Mine will shoot right in with every other pistol I own except my pimped match grade 1911. At least at close range. Things might get interesting at further ranges I suppose…

  3. My dad got heavily into black powder shooting late in life. He really enjoyed it, cast is own bullets and eventually made rifles.

He was a machinist, and he cut dovetails into a reproduction Remington cap and ball revolver so that he could add precision sights. That was a real tack driver.

It's been way too long since I made those giant smoke clouds.
