Family in Trailer Home at Glenn L. Martin Trailer Village, a Farm Security Administration (FSA) Housing Project, Middle River, Maryland, USA, John Collier for Office of War Information, August 1943
Yeah, I think they're IN a trailer. ;-)
Beat me to it!
Not optimized for space, but not bad.
i was confused by that heavy duty gas stoves. You don't see those in the old campers too much...
There was a lot of temporary / permanent housing built during WW2 around Middle River Maryland to house the influx of workers at the Glenn L Martin airplane factory. Many of those temporary houses are still there, having been renovated and expanded and being lived in. My mom and dad both worked there. Dad was a supervisor starting in 37 and Mom was a secretary starting in 40. Dad enlisted in the marines despite having a deferment. He came home in 46, went back to work at Martins and married Mom. They rented one of those homes after the war.
