Y'know... where I come from, that would probably be called craven and "bailing out on your team and leaving them in the lurch." But whadda I know? One of my favourite rude bloggers refers to modern sporting events as 'human flea circuses'. HAR HAR HAR!!!
I don't give a hoot about the olympics to be honest. The regular cheating and politics and scandals are bad enough, and unfortunately the athletes get the short end of that. But the current state of women's sport just turns me right off. That pink haired cretin that is the captain of the USA lesbian soccer team is so vile that Americans cheered when they lost. Then there were the hysterics and theatrics of trannies in women's sport. The drama and lunacy never ends. Call me sexist... but that stuff gives me a headache and I won't watch it. But - is this what people want? I am asking because I don't know, I live under a rock in the forest. Maybe folks like this kind of thing?
Fah! I much prefer the retard Special Olympics. I aim to take the Gold away from Quartermain in this year's fart contest - but Aesop is a top contender too. It should be a real match now that we have implemented the "No Texans" rule.
- and no, no one need concern themselves over our mental fitness!
😉
Have a great morn.
It obviously just because she was "sexually abused" by that white supremacist sports doctor Larry Nassar. It's his fault.
ReplyDeleteI will not bet against it, UO. A race hoax would deflect from the the girl’s failure.
DeleteThe Z Man has an excellent article about it on his blog today.
They're trained from a young age to be pampered, coerced, beaten if necessary, and all for the hope of having a cereal commercial some day. It's theater, hype and bullshit.
ReplyDeleteWhen they have an event for finishing 14 foot wide paving behind a self-propelled paving machine, I might get interested. Then again, probably not. I've done that, and there is no bench to sit on, when you feel as though you'll pass out in the summer heat. It didn't pay as well as athletic equipment endorsements, and the only time to rest was the long trip home, and a few hours of sleep.
Like many other events, gymnastics is decided by the opinion of a team of judges. It isn't anything like a foot race or a hammer throw. It's opinion.
ReplyDeleteSimone Biles backed out, but the official version of just how and why she did is guaranteed to be different than the real reasons. Me, I don't much blame her. She's pulled off moves that no other female gymnast will even try - and was officially criticized for it. Judges admitted before competition started that they were not going to give her the credit she deserved for performing the "Yurchenko double pike" successfully in competition.
What I want to know is who paid the judges off, and why.
I miss the days of "...And from the East German judge..."
Deletei enjoy the monty python olympics
ReplyDeleteGee thanks for disqualifying Texans. As a native Texan (stuck in Missouri) I was considering entering the fart contest. I think I could have won hands down. Or is that buns down?
ReplyDeleteThey always disqualify who they don't want to lose to :-)

DeleteOh, let him enter. His system is designed for that Tex-Mex concoction the locals call chili. Since he's been stuck in Missouri, he's likely been eating whatever passes for food up there, and his system has had time to mend itself. Once he gets settled in the contest, he'll get some distant relative from Houston to FedEx him three bowls of Texas Chili, extra-hot, and five minutes after he scarfs down the first bowl the entire area will be declared a HAZMAT zone... then the rest of us can go out drinking.
DeleteNo Texans! That's racisis for sure! Let me eat a bowl of oatmeal and I'll part your hair at 20 paces!
DeleteAbsolutely not, WL. Texans aren't the only ones getting banned this year. In order to maintain equity on the playing field, in addition to Texans, the following people are also banned:
Delete-United States Marines
-Vegans
-Truckers and Teamsters
-Romulans
-elephants
-bamboo twisters
Unlike figure skating, ribbon twirling and other lesser sports - we intend to keep this one pure and on the up and square.
Sorry.
Greatest Choke of All Time.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, the greatest female US gymnasts? The ones that fought the Soviets during the Cold War and managed to score high against obvious corrupt judges.
I once heard that in the contentious sports they were talking about throwing out the highest and lowest scores from the judge's panel. I wonder if they ever went anywhere with that...?
