The Filthie Antiquarian: Neolithic Tools Edition

Yesterday I was in M's shop... "borrowing" ... some tools. (I'll give 'em all back when I'm done - I swear!)

But under a pile of rubbish and behind the work bench, I found some oddities and I don't think even The Internet's Handiest Handyman knows what they are!

You know the rules: no Googling, and no whispering or prompting from the peanut gallery!

A nostril and ear hair trimmer perhaps...?

Some kind a gear puller...?

What the hell is he up to with this?

No cheating! Good luck!

  1. Number 2 looks like it might be for huck bolts.

  2. Rivnuts. Developed by B.F. Goodrich in the 30’s to hold de-ice boots on the wings of airplanes. I still use them today on modern aircraft. Handy little buggers.

  4. Number 1 looks just like the tool that Ellrod down at Bubba's Garage would straighten the Spindlethrockets on Aunt Leweezi's DeSoto. Didn't charge her but $9.99 extra when he changed the oil. ... It may just be Bubba's Spindlethrocket adjuster!
