For some reason I seem to want to think this is the old obscure Voodoo gunfighter … but those belly fins on the underside have me really confused. They must retract? Are they steerable like the rudder?
As much as I love the F-4, the F8U had a higher kill ration in Vietnam. However, an aircraft with a long and distinguished service life such as the Phantom can stand on its own merit,
A friend's father flew those during the time between Korea and Viet Nam. He was grounded for awhile for taking part in a really low flyover of a sailboat on a Texas lake. He said the rooster tail of water was something to see.

Everybody and their mother bought Rhinos. My dad wrenched on them in the 60’s; I did in the 80’s & 90’s. The thing is timeless.
