Bad To The Bone

 

One a the things I will never forgive Hollywood for is - what they did to the Terminator sci-fi series. I think in the last one the assault robot was a faggy interior decorator or something. It was unwatchable. To be honest I am just shocked that they can even make a buck these days. I seem to recall that the Emmy’s or the Oscars ratings dropped by 30 or 40% over the last couple years too.

Mind you - the originals were no screaming hell either. Maybe these things are different through the eyes of a kid? When I was a kid I saw Escape From New York with Kurt russel in it (I think it was him, anyways). It was set in Dystopian New York - which it actually is these days, HAR HAR HAR!

As a kid I thought it was great… but as an old goat… gawd. It was pretty bad. That is the hell of getting old though. I try and read a novel from a current author and two chapters in, I realize that I read this one 50 times already, just with different characters names and maybe a slight twist of plot or theme. Sometimes they don’t even do that - they just remake the characters from the originals as queers, women, or vibrants and call it good. 

I wonder if George Thoroughgood still sings? At the rate things are going, I fear I may well end up a grumpy old man, yearning for the past when we were better people living in better times.
