I saw those two screws in the stock, and I was wondering why they needed some much recoil help. Belted magnum. It's a shoulder howitzer. I do love leather. Very nice picture.
As for having "proper gear"...the leather is cool, but "no bueno" in wet climates. And an ammo belt? Besides the weight, is Bullwinkle shooting back? If he's hunting in North America, I would say, "Save some money (expensive ammo) and sweat (they're heavy"} and just bring your 30-06."
I think that the members of the Wehrmacht and Imperial Japanese Army will disaggree with your assessment of the reliable and ever popular 30-06...those on safari in the Okavando Delta or stalking the Yukon Moose in the Yukon territory are free to shoot something withe a belt. I have the name of a orthopaedic surgeon for your shoulder repair and a hearing aid company for the unnecessary muzzle blast. Those of you shooting these belted magnums on for thin-skinned deer and black bears...do you have a small willie? You must be compensating for something!

ReplyDeleteYep. I am betting massive round nosed bullets too...
DeleteIs the round thing a spyglass?
ReplyDeleteI was thinking a flask?
DeleteIt could be either... but I think it is a flask. Who knows, with old world hunters it could be either.
DeleteI think it's a spyglass. A flask would be shaped for a pocket.
