Darkling Shadows

I guess it’s the birthday of the USMC. I’ve always been a fanboy, the best shooters in the world are Marines, and they produce the best men too. One of my favourite gunnies on OyTube was a Marine, and even dressed up in his old uniform to salute them and wish them all the best. I gave his vid a thumbs up but kept my thoughts to myself. “Are they even Marines anymore? Every day they are bragging about how diverse and inclusive they are, what with their lesbians and trannies. To me they look like parodies. Corporal Klinger comes to mind. Their leadership and brass are likewise: mouth breathing vibrants clearly unqualified for any command or authority whatsoever. The Marines got off light… The Swabbies are even worse off. Their great ships rust while they root through the ranks to purge homophobes, racists, misogynists and fascists. Usually they catch patriots.

Today is Remembrance Day. Did the guys hit the beaches on D Day to build a world where elementary school teachers can take the kids on field trips to gay bars? Did they fight impossible battles like the Somme, Verdun, Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal so that hordes of human trash from the third world could be dumped into their communities to live off crime and welfare? Did they fight and die so that their kids and grandkids could throw away their rights and freedoms  because of the cold and flu?

I don’t mean to denigrate the memory of The Great Fallen, or make light of their deeds of valour or courage. On the contrary, I want to hold their memory and appreciate the magnitude of their great and selfless sacrifices … and do all that as I look at the state of our nations today. Is this the world they sacrificed for? According to Justin Trudeau all of it was for nothing; we have to tear it all down, reset, and build back better.

I know today is a day to remember our ancestors and fallen. But… I see gathering shadows and clouds. It’s very possible war is coming again. Is yours the life they fought to protect? Is your future, and that of your kids worthy of their sacrifices? They wanted you to live well and free and happy.

Are you?

Ah, shit. Don’t mind me folks. Live well today.

  1. Today, Veterans Day in the US, is a day to remember those who served and to thank them for that service. Memorial Day is a day to remember those who gave all in the service of their Country.

  3. Yeah I don't mean any disrespect, fellas. But jeez Louise... we really gotta stop and take a look at where we're going... and if that is worth the sacrifice that others have made for us.

If we don't, we will end up making our own sacrifices all over again.

  4. I look back on 21 years of military service and have to ask myself just what I did it for. The country I guarded is being given away to foreign invaders by the very people whose jobs it is to prevent them from coming in. I hope these traitors realize that there are many MANY among us who have had enough of the "lawmakers" using the law to crash the country. I took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States... not to protect them...

    1. There are no consequences for traitors anymore Pete. Until there is, our countries are hooped…

  5. The same party that sent young American men to fight the Germans and Japanese 80 years ago is the very one now flooding America with unassimilable foreigners.
