Filthies Wild West Gun Pleather

Nope.

Ain’t liking that at all. I don’t like drop leg
rigs. Not for any reasons other than esthetics, mind you. The
operators and special forces guys might have other opinions,
I speak only as a gun club stubfart.

I really like this nasty little rig below…

I love the cheesy Jonah Hex vibe on it.
It’ll be the perfect fashion accessory when everyone that got The Jab
starts turning into shambling pus oozing zombies… and pure bloods like me
have to purge them off the earth!
☠️

I was swapping insults and rude jokes with the guys at Camp Borepatch and they took some cheap shots at   the only factory ammo I ever approved of:

I was up at G.P. a hundred years ago on sales calls and decided to stay over one Friday night and go back to town the next day. Problem was I forgot my ammo at home and had to buy a couple boxes of factory .308… and all they had at the time was this crap. I felt foolish as hell going to the range with it.

My M1A match rifle with my best hand loads will typically go 1”~ 1.25”.  With this stuff it ran about 1.75”… which isn’t bad for practice ammo. The price was reasonable as I recall, and the brass wasn’t bad either. I dunno if they even make this stuff anymore… but if ya don’t mind folks looking funny at you at the range… there’s not much bad about this ammo.

  1. I still have two boxes of .45 ACP Zombie Max ammo that I bought when it first came out. I never shot any of it. I just got it as an oddity for my display case in the game room.....

  2. IIRC, it's literal just their V-Max with a green insert instead of the usual red.

  3. Way back in the day (early 90's), my .308 carbine shot Hornady 150 Frontier factory extremely well. I like it - so of course its discontinued. Dammit, should have been smart enough to buy at least 5 - 6 more boxes when I had the opportunity to get same run #. I iz stupid !!

  4. I need a gunfighter holster like Paladin wore in "Have Gun Will Travel" that has the knight on it. I've found enough of them, but the prices range from $420 - $500. Yikes! That's more than I paid for most of my single action revolvers......

    1. It probably costs $100.00 just for the materials Tam. It’s the time that you pay for. A lot of that has to be done by hand. The second you start customizing and adding one-off farkles… $$$ka-ching!$$$.

    2. I can understand that. Makes a lot of sense. The neighbor kid is into casting things from different metals. Maybe I can get him to do the chess piece from some junk silver that I have and attach it to a holster myself.

  5. Your use of deadly force will decided as justifiable or not most likely by a leftist prosecutor and a jury of morons. You will be portrayed as an eager viliante hunting zombies. Get rid of that ammo your lawer will thank you.

    1. Maybe and maybe not, A. I dunno what to think of that. In the Kyle Rittenhouse trial, the prosecution tried to make the case that video games had turned Kyle into a mass murderer.

I’ve heard the lawyers say to take pro-2A bumper stickers off, purge your social media of any pro gun statements…and I just say ‘fuck ‘em’. If some judge sentenced me on that basis, when I got out I’d dig two graves - one for him, and one for me. I am not going to live in fear or be intimidated by those guys.

    2. Massad Ayoob was asked about hand loaded or specialty ammo being a liability in a righteous shooting. He stated that not once in his career in law enforcement or as an expert witness, did the type of ammo come up at all. It is simply a non issue.

  6. The drop type holster such as the Buscadero-ish rig shown, flop, flop, flop around on your side too much as you walk. They are quite uncomfortable when moving rapidly and a total PITA when sitting down. Holsters that sit high with the belt loop on the back are far superior in my experience. Large Bowie type knife sheaths are the same way. The belt loop works far better on the back as opposed to on the top.

  7. I bought some of the zombie ammo in 12 ga. OO buck, just for laughs. Have not shot it.

  8. That ol' boy sure went to a lot of trouble to make an ugly holster.

  9. When it came out, I got a box of ZMax in 5.56 for, I believe the proper phrase for this esteemed forum is "shits and giggles". Even though it's good ammo, I'm not using it unless dire circumstances warrant it.
