Looks Like Raylan's Back For Awhile

Hmpffftftfff. I may take him out this time. I like Raylan - but his choice in firearms is simply unacceptable.

I will be watching out for the new mini-series when it comes out. 'Justified' was great on so many levels. I have never like a bad guy more than Boyd Crowder, and the other villains were almost as entertaining. The show also spawned an odd variety of music that I love - called "Gangsta Grass"

One of my all-time favourite hits from some obscure kid on
ScrewTube... appropriately entitled, 'Retard River'...

😁👍

  1. Glen: for entertainment, also check out "The Wire" and "The Shield" both entertaining if you can get past at least some of the vibrancy.

I have watched the entire "Justified" series 3 or 4 times over the past quite-a-few years, never disappointed. Also "Bosch" has some great stuff, and "Goliath" at least the first season was awesome, later seasons totes sucked. All of it in spite of Dr. Evil, AKA Bezos. Deadwood also great, not sure why it ended.

    1. Bart, the problem from me is the Wire, like Sons of Anarchy, is produced by a left-wing, anti-gun asshole, namely Kurt Sutter.

  2. So. Why don't you like the 40 S&W round? I shoot Them in my 10mm Smith. They are strong and accurate (at least to this old man and his shaky self).

    1. Good question, Greg. Is that Raylan's calibre? It's habit, I guess. As a kid growing up it was always a debate between the 9mm and the .45ACP. But then the .40 came along and I was just stuck in the past. I woulda thunk that reloading components and brass might be an issue... but now that I think of it... there's always tons of brass lying on the ground at the range... so it wouldn't be any worse than the 45 or 9. Another thing is that the 10mm is high on my radar, while the .40 seems to be its anemic little brother.

I think I really gotta think that one over Gregory.

  3. Walton Goggins, who played Boyd, also in The Shield. He is good.

  4. Bart Simpson called it with The Wire and The Shield, although The Shield was supposed to end after season one.

The actors on Justified were trained in practical firearm use by retired Texas Rangers. They said that they had to work pretty hard with some of the actors, but Timothy Olyphant picked it right up and ran it in for the touchdown. I guess the training included drawing and firing with live ammunition.

I've read Fire in the Hole by Elmore Leonard. It's a short story, and it's hilariously funny in a way that no liberal will ever understand.

    1. Most of Leonard's stuff is great, and the movies made from it, or based on at least a shred of it, do a pretty good job of capturing his amazing storytelling.

  6. I actually watched The Wire and loved it. Best of all was that big fat black baboon that always said, "Sheeeeeeeeeeeeyit"...
