The Stupidity Variants

There’s two kinds of stupidity out there. There’s the fat-fingered one-offs that everyone does. They chit the bed on a measurement and ruin the work with the wrong cut. They’ll drown in a glut of extraneous detail and go down the wrong rabbit holes. There’ll be errors in communication. The offender is rehabilitated with a good curse and a slap upside the head - and life goes on.

Then there’s the pig ignorant, life-altering obstinate variety of stupidity that is rooted, I think, in malice.  In this case, it cost a stubborn old bitch her life…

I dunno how credible any of this vax hysteria is. I refuse the vax purely on the grounds that I no longer trust the establishment and it’s institutions, and I have seen no indication that chinkypox is nothing more than a bad flu. My feeling is that the vax panic may be much like the fake plague itself - nothing to really be worried about. Yes, the odd person is going to react badly to it. It’s like that with any medication. The tell here is that the numbers don’t match up. Some sources say the vax kills 110% of the people that take it, and other sources deny any risk whatsoever. Until the numbers start making sense, I’ll keep my suspicions clearly defined as suspicions.

I’m tempted to yuk it up about Karen but my elderly mother is just like her, and I can see that old bint lining up with the cattle for booster shots too. And here is the hell of it all…when the dust finally settles on this idiocy and the flu and vaxxes are revealed for the fakes they are… Mom will be more furious with me because I was right and she was wrong. It’s always been that way with her: disagreeing with her was a sin bad enough… but if events proved you were right and she was wrong… oh boy, you were in for it! Y’know… I am less worried about Covid than I am about the idiots trying to deal with it.

Hopefully Darwin and Murphy get this one sorted out soon.

  1. By the time the truth about this entire business is published, we'll both be long gone and forgotten. I'm thinking 150+ years or more will have passed.

  2. Arrgh. My 93 yr old dad (lives alone several hours away) got sick this weekend and I went to take care of him. He had refused to even have a thermometer in the house ("Why the hell would I need a stupid thermometer?!") so when he got sick, driving down was the only option. Tried to get him in to see his GP doctor, and she wants a coof test before he can come inside. Drive over half of east Jesus to find some home test kits and wheedle him into sticking the swab up his nose. Positive for coof. Fuck me. Now his doc won't even let him into the building. At least I got the satisfaction of going off on her over the phone and forced her to admit that the so-called vacc was fucking worthless and didn't prevent dear old Dad from getting the coof.

So a few days go by and Dad's getting better- score! Then last night I get a sore throat and start running a fever. Burned another test kit and now I have the coof. Fuck me. Now I can't get back into work for another week. Fuckers. The damned vacc didn't keep him from giving the rona to me either. We know that of course but getting proof in your face like this is irritating.
On the plus side, if it doesn't get any worse, this is a fever and a mild cold so far. Been taking all the shite supplements, drinking tonic water by the half gallon etc and maybe it seems to help.

    1. From now on, if someone asks me if I'm vaccinated, I'm going to say "if I wasn't before, I am now"

  3. I went out to the local watering hole one Friday in December '20. Woke up Saturday not feeling like well, I went out and over beered on Friday. By Sunday my eyes felt like they were bulging out of my head and I couldn't taste breakfast. Went in on Monday and took a test, results back on Wednesday and I had the 'vid. I was fortunate as I still had 80 hours of COVID leave on the books. I felt great by Friday but the rules then were 2 weeks off. No problem spent the next 2 weeks snowmobiling and building my Jeep. Like I told my boss, I've had worse hangovers than the 'vid. BTW, I'm 64.

  4. One riff on "The hospitals are full because people are not vaccinated" is that step-down facilities lost staff. Staff, much of them making minimum wages, were told they would be fired if they did not get vaccinated. They looked around and saw everybody was hiring at wages 40%-to-80% over minimum wages. They said AMF and walked out the door. Four did a mid-shift walk-off at the facility where my mom is while my sister was there.

So, technically, it is true that the hospitals are packed because of people who did not take the vaccine. More accurately, the vaccine mandates depopulated the staffing of the step-down facilities so there is nowhere to ship the patients no longer in need of intensive, hospital care so the hospital cannot legally discharge them.

    1. Yep. It’s just one train car of stupidity after another piling up in the clinics. And 99% of those folks supposedly with Chinkpox don’t have to be there.
