Tread of the tire on the car doesn't match the others so the one mounted is probably the spare. I'd guess he just put the spare on; the dead tire is in the trunk.
Imagine owning another car that was so well built, the factory standard bumper could be used as a jacking point. Even on today's 4WDs, you'd need an aftermarket rear bar to do that.
