I wish I had the names but I don’t remember. The story took place in WW2. I guess the boys got into it in the skies over Paris, and a Yank P51 put the run on a German 109… and the German couldn’t shake the American fighter on his tail. Each desperate maneuver only brought the American closer and closer. In desperation he dove down to the deck and flew under that tower at full speed… with the Yank right on his tail with the guns blazing.
The story ended when the American ran out of ammo - and the adversaries parted ways. Those guys did NOT screw around…
How I miss the offensive and hilarious Fvck France page and now a quote from the site admin:
ReplyDelete"Yanks are the most boring atrocious peasants the world has ever seen, almost worse than Limeys."

HAR HAR HAR!!! I love Americans and old world Kippers... but that was funny...!
DeleteAnd I'll bet each one wished he knew the name of the other guy. (Did you ever come across the story of the crippled B-17 and the ME-109?
ReplyDeleteNo - would love to hear it...
DeleteThe American pilot (Douglas-built B-17F) was named Charlie Brown and the German Pilot (Bf-109G-6) was named Franz Stigler. They wound up living fairly close to each other after the war and bonded over the experience. Much ink has been spilled over the incident; I plan to build models of both aircraft sometime.
DeleteLots of versions of the story on line. This one is as good as any: https://www.warhistoryonline.com/world-war-ii/long-way-home-franz-stigler.html?chrome=1
