Head looks smaller than my R80, I'm guessin' its about 3 or 400cc max... maybe not that rough to kick.
The forks look telescopic too, so not all *that* old a machine. Always wanted one of the old swingarm front ends, that stand up instead of collapsing when you hit the brakes.
Looks similar to the R75 Bavarian Motor Works engine for bikes from WWII of the Kradmelder or cycle riders. The Zundapp KS-750 was a little more rugged.
Thanx! Looked it up, and it *is* a swingarm front end that will stand up when you hit the brakes! Instead of using two fixed forks on each side of the tire, with the swingarms at their bottom, they used *one* fixed fork *behind* the front tire to anchor the swingarms, and telescopic forks for suspension.

I got to ride one of those a long, long time ago. the torque reaction when revving up was interesting and unusual. It was not fast, but smooth.

Its a BMW R27 250cc's 50's and 60's vintage ... smooth ( rubber engine mount ) ... shaft drive ... overbuilt reliable , Patrick
