Kennedy was a total idiot for involving the US in Vietnam (~8000 miles away from San Diego) instead of thwarting Castro in Cuba (~500 miles Jacksonville, Fl to Havana, Cuba). The overthrow of Castro would've been an easy win--instead of the psychological trauma experienced by both the soldiers and American society due to the Vietnam War. Imagine if the money spent on the Vietnam War would've been spent on space exploration instead--we'd be colonizing Venus by nowl; perhaps even have a working fusion reactor.
Wow!!!! There's so much wrong with what you said. Being its my day of rest, I'm not even going to exert the tiny bit of brain power it will require to set you straight. You may consider asking CederQ for his favorite coffee blend. It just might help you wake up.
Folgers Breakfast Blend... I agree with the first anonymouse. besides, ya'll need to stop hiding behind the anonymous crap, be a man or woman and pick a name, any name. You might gain a bit more credibility...
The problem I have is that they changed the procedures in the comments. On some blogs I have to manually put my name in and on others it is filled in automatically. If I forget to type in my name nobody knows who they’re talking with…
I stand by what I said about Vietnam and Cuba. The US military spent billions just putting in port facilities and airfields all over S. Vietnam, not to mention the amount of treasure and blood that went into actually fighting that war that allowed the Left to really get a foothold and begin its destruction of America's foundations. What's that old saying about getting involved in a land war in Asia? Oh yeah, "don't". And with respect to the exploration of space and possible fusion reactors--50K men were killed in that war--how many possible doctors, scientists, technologists, engineers, etc lives were snuffed out before they could train to become one of those things? I just think of the myriad of everyday appliances, like the microwave oven, that "fell out" of the research NASA did because of space travel. Even Canada invented the "Space Arm" to literally "catch" satellites in space--which is really cool because it had never been done before until we proved it could be done.
Kennedy had advisers in S.E. Asia. He was pulling them out and there wasn't going to be any war that the U.S was involved in. The central bankers and military industrial complex had a different plan. This difference in opinion got him killed. Funny how it is the same powers causing the issues of our current time. Johnson got the U.S involved in the Vietnam war.
As for the moon landings, really? That story is pushed pretty much like the covid issue of today. Go back and look closely at what they say. There's so much wrong with that story. Not to mention a ton of information debunking it. All you have to do is look.
One last thing, why would all the information pertaining to how we supposedly got there have been thrown out? Literally like they can't produce anything about it today. Only pictures. And bad ones at that.
Why get involved in Vietnam? It didn't make any sense when Cuba could have been returned back to non-Communist Cubans with US military involvement. Kennedy allowed those guys to die/get captured on the beach during the Bay of Pigs fiasco. Unlike Vietnam, Americans actually had ties to Cuba and were familiar with it. NOBODY in 1963 USA even knew where Vietnam was considering they would have learned about it in school as "French Indo-China". So, in your calculus you'd have rather spent all that treasure and blood on the Vietnam War versus spending treasure researching the exploration of space? How hard would it have been for the US-based Communists to make inroads into US society if they didn't have the polarizing event of the Vietnam War to divide society? Remember even a lot of conservative families weren't too thrilled with the idea of sending their sons to fight in a foreign war. There was no Pearl Harbor event to anger and galvanize the American public. Please don't try to equate the "attack" on the USS Maddox to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
Please don't try to equate anything I said as support for our adventure in S.E. Asia. It was a complete waste of men and money. Time has proven that our misadventures and foreign entanglements have gained very little for our country as a whole. The same as the billions that have be dumped into NASA.
I also forgot to mention that Canada was the recipient of a lot of the American cowards who didn't want to get drafted...many of whom stayed to become university professors with a very left of centre view on things--at about the same time (late-60s to mid-70s) we started a building-spree on universities. So the Vietnam War also negatively impacted Canada (even though there were Quebec textile mills producing combat uniforms for the US military).
True that. My cousin, upon receiving his draft notice, knocked up some woman, married her, and fled to Canuck Land. He ended up a lighthouse keeper in BC. He is still there. Living off the dole. And, when I enlisted, he wrote and told me I was a murderer for joining the US Army. To this day, we do not communicate.
