Some twenty years ago they re-introduced the wild turkey into southern Oregon. Why they had mostly disappeared I don't know, but they went to the effort of re-populating them.
Now they are everywhere! In the town of Roseburg, they're everywhere, in people's yards, crossing the streets, ... everywhere!
But thanks to gmint, it's cheaper to go to the store and buy a frozen one then it is to get the hunting license and turkey tag.
Shot a turkey once with a 243 in South tx. Bird face away from me. Bullet barely parted back skin with head and neck in another zip code. Best shot i ever made.
