The word "Community" has been bastardized by Progressive Liberals on all levels to promote "inclusiveness". I don't live in a "community". I live in a geographical "neighborhood". I don't live in a "community' of likeminded people. I coexist with a bunch of rowdy, hard drinking seniors.

I suppose if we want to get technical - the scientific community doesn't have to apologize for or admit anything. They were screaming at the top of their lungs that it was all bullshit - and the idiocracy posing as 'scientifically informed' - wouldn't listen.
